Sickness and salvation….

It's been a really interesting past few days. Sunday started off rather strangely. We got to church in time to find out that we were scheduled to have the Lord's Supper. Of course myself, and the rest of the staff, had all forgotten about it. So we scrambled, changed the service around, and added the Lord's Supper. Wouldn't you know, it turned out to be one of the most moving Lord's Suppers I've been involved with. After the Lord's Supper we had a little more musical worship which was fantastic and then as I went into the pulpit I felt strongly impressed upon to set my sermon down and speak quickly about the crucifixion and why I value Christ so much. So I did. I spoke for about 10 minutes and then I offered an invitation and wouldn't you know, 8 people accepted Christ! It was amazing. The really interesting thing is that aside from one person who was 16, all the rest were adults over the age of 40! So after that high on Sunday I of course promptly got seriously sick in the middle of the night Sunday night. In order to preserve some sort of social sensibility let's just say I was "flowing like a faucet," not to mention my high fever, chills and body aches. Yes, I know you must be envious. To top it off I ended up passing out on Monday night at the top of our stairs. Thankfully I fell backwards, away from the stairs, instead of forward, down the stairs, therefore maintaining my neck in one piece. The pain died down yesterday, although I still spent most of the day in bed, and today I'm not feeling great but at least I'm back at work.

Anyway, that's been my life for the past few days. Just chock full of excitement!
