Israel - Wednesday
Today was our first day of touring through Israel. With the leadership of an outstanding guide, Asher, and in the capable hands of our driver, Hazem, we took off from Netanya early this morning. Stopping first in Ceasarea we were blown away by the remains of Herod's palace, as well as the hippodrome and theatre that he built. I had the incredible privilege of leading a short devotion while standing on the floor of the theatre. We considered the cost of following Jesus, which was made all the more powerful as I taught from the very same floor where many Christians gave their lives to the lions and gladiators. Not only that but immediately behind me was the remains of the palace where Paul was imprisoned for many years (Acts 23-24) and we finished up the day standing on the hillside outside of Nazareth where it was believed that Jesus was attacked by his own friends and family, as they attempted to throw Him off the hill to His death (Luke 4).
There is so much more I would love to share, but due to time I'm going to have to stop for now. If you would like to see pictures, check out my Facebook page here.
