I have a dream…

As a child growing up in the south I unfortunately treated Martin Luther King Jr. Day as if it was a second class sort of holiday. It was a token day that gave us a day out of school, but meant little more to me than that. Thankfully, as I've aged, I have come to realize the significance, both culturally and biblically, that MLK had upon the United States and it is thrilling for me to listen to those great words from his momentous speech and dream of a day when we do unify under the common banner of "all God's children." I would encourage you today to watch this video. If you have children, take a moment or two to watch it with them. For a tremendous message about God's passion for racial diversity I would encourage you to read and/or listen to John Piper's message, God's Pursuit of Racial Diversity at Infinite Cost.
