We’re going for two in a row, baby!

First we take the basketball crown and now (thanks in part to USC’s choke job) the marvelous Gators will be playing for a national title in Football as well. This comes on the heels of playing in the baseball World Series championship within the past two years as well! Booyah baby! The Gators are in the house!

  1. Sorry Micah, but all this talk about who will get to play Ohio State for the championship is really an argument over who will get to lose to OSU on Jan 8.
My Sooners made a great run to finish the season, but even with their big head of steam, I doubt they would be any match for the Buckeyes. Its just their year.
    38-17, Ohio State.

  2. You know, as far as I’m concerned, college football won’t have a true champion until they adopt a playoff system. The BCS is a joke.

(BTW, aren’t you proud of your head coach? I thought the political campaigns were over in early November, but his lobbying to play in the “championship” certainly paid off…)

  3. Jasonk-

You certainly may be right. I would be pleasantly surprised if the Gators could pull the upset!

    John-

As to the question of the mess of the BCS I agree 100%. I can’t stand it, I don’t like the way it went down this year. The only redeeming quality right now is that my team made it.

As to Urban whining, I can’t fault him for that. The system has created a situation where whining is almost necessary. If I were in his shoes I would have done the same – and consequently, so would any coach worth their salt, in my opinion.

All in all, though, I hope this creates a reason to ditch the BCS. Here’s hoping for a real playoff soon!
