Weekend Worship :: In Christ Alone

For this week’s Weekend Worship I want to share a song with you that has to be one of the more dynamic songs, lyrically speaking, to have come along in the past decade or two. Stuart Townsend’s song, “In Christ Alone” is one of the most powerful calls to selfless, sacrificial, triumphant living that I know of.

I hope that as you listen to this song this weekend, you will be challenged in your commitment to Christ. The final verse of the song, listed below, is incredibly powerful in particular. I hope you enjoy!

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life’s first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.
