The jury is out?

thumbnail.jpg Well, after searching over the last 6 months for a 3 column format for my blog, I’ve finally found one that I like. I’ve spent a ridiculous amount of time rewriting the code for the appearance of the blog but I think I’ve finally got it where I’m pleased with it. I’d like to hear from you how it looks on your systems. I’ve included a screenshot of what it looks like on my monitor. My monitor is a widescreen and I also use Firefox so you other folks, if you could let me know how it looks to you I’d appreciate it!

Micah is a husband to Tracy & a daddy to Grace, Kessed & Haddon. He’s Senior Pastor at Brainerd Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN. Most of all, he’s a debtor to grace.

  1. It looks good, although it also looks like it “wants” to be wider. I also use a wide screen and there is a lot of empty white space on the sides. That isn’t a problem and it doesn’t look bad, but you asked my opinion. 😉

  2. When John and I were trying to find a template I so wanted a 3 column format, but I, like you, wasn’t satisfied with much. Hmmmm. I always love your banners. I’ve got to learn how to do some of that. I suppose I should have publisher or sumpn. ?

  3. I like the layout. It’s pretty skinny, though. I happened to pick one that has a dynamic width dependent on the size of the reader’s screen. That’s my favorite part. If only I could get the header to do the same.

I like the three column thing. It’s better.

  4. Okay, I’ve waited a while to offer this comment, and I’ve looked at it several times on different size monitors, and I’m still distracted by the word “Design?” in the banner. I thought it would grow on me, but I feel like it obligates me somehow, and I don’t know how to respond.

Okay, that’s a little wierd, I know, but I thought I would let you know, since you asked, that that one tiny thing is somewhat distracting.

Otherwise, it looks great. I looked at it on a non-widescreen monitor, and you can’t see the little “f” logo underneath the banner on each side like you can on a widescreen.

    Hope that’s helpful.

  5. jasonk- Thanks!

Nomad- I’m unsure about the whitespace issue that you talk about. Can you send me a screen shot by chance?

Guy- Thanks for the comment. I’m going to try and increase the font a bit.

Bryan- Thanks for the compliment. Adobe Photoshop is the answer to your question.

    Kevin- Thanks!

Art- It’s skinny and you dislike it? Hmmm, should I take that as a statement about my own stature and your disposition towards me? I’m afraid I might develop a complex. :-0
Wes- Well, Wes, don’t feel bad. You’re not the first to tell me so. 🙂 That’s the kind of feedback I was looking for. I think I’ll have to change it. Thanks for taking the time.
