Scarlet Knights!!!

I’m a Scarlet Knight fan tonight! As a die-hard Gator fan it was fabulous to see Rutgers take down Louisville. Since Florida is #4 in the BCS (behind Louisville) and since Ohio State and Michigan (#’s 1 & 2) play each other at the end of the season, Florida now stands a good chance of getting in the BCS title game if they can win out. Of course, with my luck now would be the time that we will lose this Saturday to South Carolina, not to mention that we still have to play FSU and the SEC title game, but here’s hoping for success!

  1. “micah” (whoever you are)-

I wrote that late last “knight” πŸ™‚ and I guess I was a little tired. Thanks for reminding me and helping me to see that I’m an idiot! πŸ™‚

  2. Micah,

I’m with you on this one!

My favorite teams used to be the Gators and who ever was playing Notre Dame. Now, I can add the Scarlet Knights into the mix as well.

Not to mention that I don’t have a whole lot of love for ex-Memphis rival, who jumped ship for the Big East, leaving us to find our way in C-USA. (I’m talking basketball, now, where my favorite team is MEMPHIS).

In any case, GO GATORS!!! (in football, that is).

  3. David! I knew I liked you but now I like you even more. It’s about time some folks around the blog world recognized athletic greatness. I’m glad to hear you’re part of the Gator Nation!

  4. You know who I am, Micah… the one with ultimate control over your blog!

    Worried? πŸ™‚

Seriously, don’t be… I’ll correct this access “issue” (fun as it could be for me) in a moment…

  5. That you do… πŸ™‚

We forget to log out when we updated your blog to the latest version of wordpress a couple weeks back, which caused my comments to appear as you (even though I filled out all the relevant info). What’s sad about this? I haven’t commented in two weeks, and just now noticed!

  6. There’s a new wrinkle in the fabric for Florida. In addition to the extra game they will have to win, probably over Auburn, they have to hope that the Scarlet Knights don’t finish the season undefeated. An unbeaten Div. I-A school from a conference with a BCS tie in will most likely get the bid for the national championship game ahead of Florida, since that’s the way the point system is set up. I’m guessing there will be a lot of West Virginia fans around Gainsville when Rutgers plays the Mountaineers.

Big 12 and SEC championship games open the possibility for California, if it wins out, to get past Texas and Florida into the championship, especially if the conference championships are close, knock down, drag out games where a close win costs a team points in the standings. If Cal wins out, which would include a win over USC, I think they would rise above Florida. Of all the one-loss teams left, Texas still has the best chance if it wins out.

  7. Lee, you are crazy! Florida will have to beat Arkansas unless they just fall apart. And, if it isn’t Arkansas, it will be LSU. But, having said that, I am pretty sure it will be the Hogs knocking off Florida to go to the National Championship game against Michigan.

    Woo Pig Sooie!!!! GO RAZORBACKS!
