LifeLock 400 Qualifying

Due to the wonderful generosity of some folks at our new church, I got to spend this afternoon in a suite at Kansas Speedway watching qualifying for the LifeLock 400 which also happens to be one of the races in the Chase for the Nextel Cup. I happen to be a pretty big Nascar fan, and I’m a particualarly big fan of Jimmie Johnson and so when I got to watch him zip around the track at 175 miles an hour, and take the Pole for Sunday’s race, it made it a very satisfying afternoon.

One of the perks of having a pass to a suite is that you get to enjoy going down by the pits and watching the cars/crews/drivers come and go. I took a lot of pictures, and I’ve posted a few of them over at my Photo Blog. I’ve placed a couple of them below, but you can click here to see all of them.

Micah is a husband to Tracy & a daddy to Grace, Kessed & Haddon. He’s Senior Pastor at Brainerd Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN. Most of all, he’s a debtor to grace.

  1. Too bad the pole winner will start from the rear of the field! Being in Miami I get to attend the championship every year. I already have my ticket!

    By the way, good pics!

  2. Micah,

Jimmy Johnson? Micah, this is serious. Know that the intensity of my prayer for you shall increase significantly. I will ask the Lord to give you much needed discernment in determining which cup driver to support. I trust that he will lead you safely into the 01 – Martin (8 in ’08) or 20 – Stewart fold. 🙂 Of course I’m kidding. Thanks for the cool pics. I’m going to be at Talladega this weekend for the truck race and the cup race. It’s going to be great fun watching the CoT run on the new surface. On the other hand it will be a heart breaking eye opener as to the large number of folks attending the Sunday race who do not know Christ. Every pastor ought to attend one Sunday race so that he can be reminded of how large the task before us is. Again, thanks for the cool post.
