God is groovy

I remember talking to Henry Blackaby one evening when he told me that, in his opinion, one of the great travesty’s of the modern church was the familiarization of God among our membership. In other words we had begun reffering to God as buddy, friend, Daddy, etc. (which are all accurate by the way) and had stopped reffering to Him in terms such as Lord, Sovereign, King, etc. His fear was that by familiarizing ourselves to this extent, with God, we had lost our reverence for Him. I am sympathetic to his opinion.

Along these lines I found this website today. It’s good (or maybe sad) to know that God is groovy!

Micah is a husband to Tracy & a daddy to Grace, Kessed & Haddon. He’s Senior Pastor at Brainerd Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN. Most of all, he’s a debtor to grace.
