Dr. Mohler on the future of the SBC

Yesterday Dr. Al Mohler, of Southern Seminary, delivered the President’s address at the beginning of the new academic year. I was in meetings all day but kept getting updates that it was very good and so I was looking forward to listening to it. I got the chance to do so this morning and was very encouraged by it. If the Great Commission Resurgence Task Force is going to be following this kind of leadership the SBC future may be much brighter than many have thought.

Micah is a husband to Tracy & a daddy to Grace, Kessed & (soon to be) Haddon. He’s Senior Pastor at Brainer Baptist Church in Chattanooga, TN. Most of all, he’s a debtor to grace.

  1. Thanks for the video link, Micah. I agree that people are not going to be involved in something that does not focus its efforts on serving Christ in a practical and visible way as missions does. People love to help others. It is the one thing that culturally-minded and Christ-minded people agree on. Helping others in the name of Christ and sharing His love is the best way to connect to the world. We make that connection in a bigger way as part of the SBC. Let’s focus the convention toward connecting, sharing, preaching the gospel, and teaching new believers through a mission minded approach.
