Something to laugh at

**UPDATE** I found this recent post by Timmy Brister providing a parody on Southern Baptist’s and their take on the environmental initiative. We don’t have many writers in the convention better than Timmy. If you follow the SBC at all, this will make you laugh. If you don’t follow the SBC, you probably won’t get it. Click here

I love laughing at myself. It helps keep me sane. ;-) I’ve seen this before, in a slightly different form, but I saw it again and couldn’t help but laugh again. In light of our discussion from the past few days I had to post it. I hope you laugh as much as I did.

Once I saw this guy on a bridge about to jump. I said, “Don’t do it!” He said, “Nobody loves me.” I said, “God loves you. Do you believe in God?”

He said, “Yes.” I said, “Are you a Christian or a Jew?” He said, “A Christian.” I said, “Me, too! Protestant or Catholic?” He said, “Protestant.” I said, “Me, too! What franchise?” He said, “Baptist.” I said, “Me, too! Northern Baptist or Southern Baptist?” He said, “Southern Baptist.” I said, “Me, too! Southern Conservative Baptist or Southern Liberal Baptist?”He said, “Southern Conservative Baptist.”

I said, “Me, too! Southern Baptists of Texas Convention or Baptist General Convention of Texas?” He said, “Southern Baptists of Texas Convention.” I said, “Me, too!” Southern Baptists of Texas Convention Baptist Faith & Message 1963 or Southern Baptists of Texas Convention Baptist Faith & Message 2000?” He said, “Southern Baptists of Texas Convention Baptist Faith & Message 1963.” I said, “Die, heretic!” And I pushed him over.

…but it is probably about what I look like on the court anymore. This poor guy wins the prize for the Worst Dunk Ever….

It’s a [Sunday] wrap…

Well, as usual Sunday was phenomenal! What a great day at Frederick! This morning’s worship was among the best I’ve ever experienced at Frederick. Big thanks to Chad and the Worship Team who work so hard to lead us into God’s presence.

dsc05412.gifAlso, the Smith family did a wonderful job getting the Worship Center ready for the new Bible & the Bush series. It looked great when you walked in today. I recently told them that I wanted those in the audience to not only hear the message, but see it as well and they hit a home run with their decorating. You can click on the picture to the right to see it enlarged.

It was also exciting to have another young family join with us at Frederick! I am so thankful for all the new faces God is bringing us, but He seems to be sending us a number of young families, in particular. I’m very excited about that!

The men’s cake sale fundraiser for the youth was this afternoon. If you weren’t there, you need to know that my cake won a trophy! Now, in all fairness I guess I should admit that it’s because it was voted the ugliest cake, but I’ll take the trophy none-the-less. To be honest, I was really upset last night when the cake didn’t come out looking right. I’ve attached some pictures that Tracy took in between her laughter that was so hard she was gasping for air. She was amused. I was not.

Oh well, the money is going to help some of our Students on an upcoming mission trip, although I had to buy my own cake in order for it to make some money. I should add that although it looks horrible, it tastes incredible!

Not that I want it to happen anytime soon, but according to the story posted below (and which can be found at its original location here), I can have my ashes spread on the field at the University of Florida when I pass away. This is good news. Now if I can just find a way to get permission for half of me to get spread out in Green Bay I’ll be perfectly happy!

Gator fans can spread their loved ones’ ashes at The Swamp

For some University of Florida football fans, the stairway to heaven starts in The Swamp.

For the past several years, UF officials have allowed Gator fans to spread their loved ones’ ashes on Florida Field. There’s no formal program in place for such ceremonies, but UF gets a handful of requests each year from families who want a dead relative to spend eternity in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

“(We get) two to three phone calls a year,” said Natalie
