Micah grew up in a military home, moving often, and lived around the US as well as overseas. This regular traveling allowed Micah to be exposed to a number of cultures and peoples. Coming from a home with two parents who loved Christ, modeled Christ-like behavior, and particularly communicated a passion for missions, Micah learned at an early age to love & value Christ and His call to take the Gospel to all the peoples of the world.
At 12 years old, while living in Newport News, Virginia, Micah came to recognize his sin against God and trusted in Jesus Christ for his salvation. Praying with his dad one evening in February of 1991, Micah experienced the saving grace of God. It was just one year later, while attending a Centrifuge Youth Camp at the University of Mobile in Mobile, Alabama that Micah surrendered to God’s call on his life to serve in vocational ministry. Micah began preaching at 16 years old.
Micah graduated from high school and moved on to study Theology at the Baptist College of Florida in Graceville, Florida where he graduated in 2001 with a degree in Theology. While in school at BCF Micah met, and 3 years later married Tracy Hartman. Additionally, while attending BCF, Micah served for almost 3 years as the Minister to Students at Beulah Baptist Church in Dothan, Alabama.
After college graduation Micah and Tracy moved to Burkina Faso, West Africa where they served as church planters among the Dagara people as International Service Corps missionaries with the International Mission Board. After having served one year out of a two year term, they were sent home due to medical reasons which were resolved shortly after their return to the United States.
After returning home to the US they moved to Kansas City, Missouri where Micah began to work towards his Master of Divinity at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. While at Midwestern Micah served as the Pastor at Missouri Valley Baptist Church in Halls, Missouri. After serving at Missouri Valley for 5 years Micah accepted the call to serve as the Senior Pastor at Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church in St. Joseph. Micah has been serving at Frederick Boulevard since October of 2007. Micah graduated from Midwestern Seminary in May of 2010 with a Master of Divinity.
Micah and Tracy are the parents of two daughters, Sarah Grace and Kessed Noel.
