It’s been a while since I’ve posted a Weekend Worship. Unfortunately life with our church has simply consumed about 115% of my time, energy and resources lately. I have posted occasionally when something has popped up, but otherwise haven’t had any time. Anyway, Tracy is getting ready to lead worship for a group of women this weekend and was singing through some music and I heard her sing this song and I thought it would be great to post it this weekend. I hope it encourages you.

After quite some time, I am very happy to share that our podcast is finally up and running! I know, I know, we should have had this working a long time ago. Unfortunately, a series of issues arose that caused challenges. None the less, it is now functional and you can access it through itunes, or by just subscribing to this link.

Today was a great day as we celebrated with our kids what God did this past week in VBS. It was a blast to have many of our VBS kids in worship with us this morning sharing some of what they learned. I also thought God spoke powerfully through the scripture we studied this morning. I know it was impactful in my life. It was also exciting to see the new members that He brought our way as well as the two new believers that came forward this morning to share their newfound faith in Christ! Beyond that we had a lot of new families with us today and I was so excited to get to meet many of them!

Sometime ago I heard about this new phenomenon called Twitter and thought it sounded pretty lame. Then I played with it for a while and got hooked. For the uninitiated Twitter is basically a micro blog. 140 characters or less and it lets people follow you all day long. I love it. Between adding updates while I’m online or texting using my snazzy new Curve, I love to Twitter all day long. Unfortunately, though, a day or so ago Twitter had some sort of hiccup and lost a bunch of data. Part of what they lost was a significant number of those who have been subscribed to my Twitter feed. So if you were formerly following me on Twitter or you want to start, click here and get signed up!

Yes!

Well, somehow I missed the fact that yesterday was the 4th birthday of this blog. I started this blog 4 years ago as a means of staying in contact with old friends. After about 6 months of fairly pointless posts I began blogging on denominational issues. That led me to believe that this blog could be used for meaningful conversation online, and it has been amazing how many doors have opened for me because of this blog. I love to write here, and I love to think through the posts that carry substantive material. Unfortunately, from a blog perspective, I have never been more busy in all my life as I am right now. My pastoral responsibilities are keeping me incredibly occupied which is fine with me because I love what God has called me to do. That being said, I hope to blog in the near future about a couple of posts that have been brewing in my head for a few months. They both promise to be substantive, and at least one promises to be a bit controversial.

So, for now let me say thanks, on this my blog’s 4th birthday, for all of you that visit so often and for those of you who just stop by on occasion. I continue to be amazed at the number of people who want to stop by. Please know that I sincerely appreciate it!
