Floyd Curtis Lovelace, 1927 - 2008
For those who haven’t read the comment thread from my last post, Tracy’s grandfather passed away early Wednesday morning. Please continue to pray for our family. It’s hard for me to really explain how important he was to us. It’s also hard to explain how important he was to me personally. Sorting through this loss has been, and will continue to be, very difficult.
Please pray specifically for his wife Mary Jane as she learns to live alone for the first time in her life. Please also pray for Tracy as she is really struggling with this loss. Finally, if you will, please pray for me. I will officiate at his funeral tomorrow and I am worried that I will not be able to make it through the service. It will be the most difficult funeral I’ve ever led.

Hey big brother, you know I’m praying for all of y’all but I just wanted to say it again. Grandpa Lovelace was special to all and he will be missed greatly. I’m sorry I can’t be there with you, but I’ll be praying. I love you! Your little sis

I did my grandmother’s funeral and it was very difficult but God’s strength prevailed. I know His strength will get you through also. My sympathies to Tracy and all of your family.

Let them know that I am praying for them all!!! I know this will be an extremely hard day for all of them. My dad has always said that if he has to preach a really hard funeral his #1 thing is to never look down at the casket. I don’t know if that will help Micah but I thought of that and figured I’d share his advice that I know his given to many pastors. I love you and will continue to lift up your family! If you need me just call or e-mail!!!

Just found out about your loss during Sunday eve service. We all missed you, but it’s great you’re able to be together as family right now. May the comfort of Christ envelop you both, and your whole family. As disciples we’re called to enter into the fellowship of Christ’s suffering, and the cool thing is that Christ enters into our suffering as well. You already know that He’s right there hurting with you–and when He takes our burdens they get much lighter. So I trust you both to His comfort, rest and healing.
