Weekend Worship :: Christmas Edition

December 20, 2007

This weekend on Weekend Worship I wanted to feature two distinctly different, yet both beautiful, Christmas songs. The first is sung by one of my favorite vocalists, Josh Groban, and features his incredible rendition of “Silent Night” which he just performed, last week, on Swedish tv. The second song is performed by the Worship Team at Bayside Church led by Worship Arts Pastor, Lincoln Brewster. It is their cover of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra favorite, Christmas Eve Sarajevo and was performed at one of their Christmas Eve services last year. I hope both of them encourage you as you prepare to celebrate Christmas this year!

Bayside Church Worship Team was awesome! Have Chad bring them to St Joe. Does anybody sing “Do You Hear What I Hear” anymore? That’s my favorite.

Ron-

Glad you enjoyed them. I’m afraid that if we bring them to St. Joe we’d have church members with heart attacks. :-)

Try this link to “Do You Hear What I Hear“. It’s by Third Day. I think they do a pretty good job.

Micah, thanks for getting me totally cranked up today. With all the awesome Christmas music, Christmas Eve Sarajevo is my absolute favorite. Reason being is that the first time I heard it, the Christmas story from the book of Revelation popped in my mind — the violent reality of Christ intersecting our world in the flesh; Satan pursuing as a dragon intent on destroying the woman giving birth. Ever since that first time I can’t hear that song without it being a soundtrack for that story in my head.

Hey, not to be disrespectful but I’m all about weeding out the weak.
