Planting churches together

December 14, 2007

Due to the recent decision by the Missouri Baptist Convention Executive Board, church planters who have already been approved by the North American Mission Board and the Missouri Baptist Convention will now have a significant portion of their funding cut off with less than one month’s advance notice due to their affiliation with Acts 29. Darren Casper is a friend of mine in St. Louis who is the Director for Church Planting in the St. Louis Metro Baptist Association. Darren has helped set up a fund to offset this financial shortfall for these church planters. Darren is careful to clarify that this is not an organism to begin planting churches, nor is it an effort to supplant the Cooperative Program. It is, however, an opportunity for concerned Southern Baptists to replace funding that has been removed from their churches.

If you are interested in helping these church planters, you can send a check to:

St. Louis Metro Baptist Association
(designate it for the “Show Me Church Planting Fund”)
