Wisdom Words :: Psalm 37:23-26

November 28, 2007

“The steps of a man are established by the Lord, and He delights in his way. When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong, because the Lord is the One who holds his hand. I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his descendants begging for bread. All day long he is gracious and lends, and his descendants are a blessing.” Psalm 37:23-26

A fitting scripture today in light of the announcement of Kevin Bussey’s resignation from DMBC.

You are right, Rob. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness.

What struck me about this passage, was verse 26. When thinking about the righteous man being “struck down” notice what it says his response is. “All day long he is gracious and lends, and his descendants are a blessing.”

Isn’t that challenging and encouraging at the same time?
