…I didn’t go to high school at Chipley High School, but I did grow up in Chipley. Having said that I have to offer congratulations to the Chipley Tigers mens team. They won district this past week with a win, on the road, at Ponce De Leon. They play Jay this Thursday at Chipley so here’s hoping for a state championship.

…we went car shopping over the past week and if I didn’t feel this way before, I definetely do now. We came so, so close to buying this new car on Saturday but we walked away because I just felt like I was getting taken. The worst part about it was the salesman that I was with is a 2 time grad of my seminary and the founding pastor of one of the best churches in our area. I told Tracy I thought I was getting swindled by a lying preacher. It just really ticked me off!

Can I reach this guy?

I read found this article on Mike’s blog. It is a great article that really gives insight into the people our churches should be reaching. As I read it, though, I was forced to ask myself if my church could actually reach him. I don’t know that we can, and I’m not sure that most churches are interseted in trying, to be honest with you. It has challenged me, for one, to really think about how we go about communicating with those who don’t believe like we do. I encourage you to read it and hope that it challenges you as well.

The Cameron Curse….

Let me set the record straight….I love the Gators. I’m not denying that by writing this post. Having said that however, I also will admit that I grew up as a fan of Duke basketball. I love Cameron Indoor and I think the Cameron Crazies are the best fans in the business. Along with that, there is no better coach in basketball today than Coach K. (Shut up Jared!)

In light of all of this, it was great to see Duke win last night against Carolina, again! For the 15th time in the past 18 games the Blue Devils topped the Tarheels and once again I have a big smile on my face! It just goes to prove my point that Roy Williams is the single best coach in the business when it comes to getting the least production out of the most talent. Way to go Heels….

From basketball to the Bible?

Can you believe that a church has purchased an NBA arena and are remodeling it to hold their church? Believe it or not, it’s true. Now, I’m not much on some of this church’s doctrines but I’ll have to admit that I’m pretty impressed by their savvy and ingenuity in acquiring and using the Compaq Center in Houston for their church. Read more about it here.
